Brackenwood Gallery

A gallery on Whidbey Island, WA representing the very best in fine arts and crafts from the pacific northwest.

Georgia and Laura are a great hit!

It has been great having the wonderful family shows we have had this last month! Laura Hudson and her mum, Georgia Gerber collaborated to produce a fine opening! Animal themes, especially chickens, seemed to be a common thread as well as patterns. Georgia's chickens, and Laura's chickens combined to make a delightful duo! Laura's figurative work on people are still available. Her color palate in these paintings is lovely. I can see this one hanging in a bedroom or walk-in closet, down a hallway, or in a den. Its a perfect painting to brighten up a home wherever one chose to hang it.

Here are Georgia's clay chicks before she cast them in bronze. She named them "Ain't Nobody Here"! Many people have remarked that they love it when they can see Georgia's fingers in her work, and this is an excellent example. They have a very feathered feel.

Look out there are foxes in the hen house!! These are amazing, and luckily there are more in this new edition to go around.  If you haven't had a chance to catch the show, stop by this week!
