Time to Brag a Bit about Brackenwood's Fine Artists!
We would like to give a shout out to Rich Frishman who just won the top award in the 2013 Michael H. Kellicutt International Photography Show! The exhibition is currently at the Coastal Arts League Gallery in Half Moon Bay, CA! We had this mesmerizing photo in our show earlier in the year and everyone enjoyed it then. Congratulations Rich! We know what an outstanding photographer Rich is but sometimes its great to win awards and feel validated!
Our current show “A Painter’s Summer in the Northwest” is truly lovely. Langley is full of visitors and the show has gotten rave reviews from people far and wide. Pete Jordan, Ginny O’Neill and Susan Ogilvie have done an amazing job of capturing the beauty of the Northwest. The show continues through Sept. 2, 2013. We will have a few new pieces for the August show.
Buffy Cribbs and Bruce Morrow, who will have work in the Sept. Print Show, have recently opened Flicker Feather Press. It’s Whidbey Island’s Premier Print Facility where they offer workshops, classes and the use of an incredibly equipped studio. If you haven’t had a chance to visit it, put it on your list! Here is their phone number in case you would like to sign up for a class: 360-579-8547.
Finally, Gary Leake has recently made it into the world of print via Western
Art and Architecture http://www.westernartandarchitecture. Interviewed
recently in an article entitled “Something of Value” Gary Leake expressed “I
don’t like to impose my ideas on a piece of wood. I want the piece’s grain
pattern, color and form to suggest to me what it wants to become.” We are
honored to have several beautiful specimens of Gary’s work in the gallery.
Let's hear it for our amazingly talented artist!!
