August Show at Brackenwood Gallery
Brackenwood Gallery’s July & August show “A Painter’s Summer in the Northwest” continues with featured artists Pete Jordan, Susan Ogilvie and Ginny O’Neill. Join us for the Langley Art Walk and Artists’ Reception August 3, 2013 from 5-7 PM.
For those looking to purchase a Pete Jordan painting now is the time since we have the best selection of his work in the gallery during this August show. Pete's iconic Whidbey scenes continue to be awe inspiring because of his ability to paint the light and views we all so enjoy on this gorgeous island. For the August Art Walk we have the added pleasure of having Pete Jordan’s daughter Katie Rose entertain us with her lovely violin music during the Artists' Reception!
Ginny O’Neill has several new paintings to add to the show including more landscapes and some new doggie portraits! Ginny's watercolors are expertly painted with deep colors produced by laying layer upon layer of paint. Not many watercolor artists have mastered this technique, but Ginny truly has it down.
Everyone’s enjoying Susan Ogilivie’s beautiful pastel paintings. Her style is representational yet somewhat abstract. Her facility with pastels is astounding! She paints the kind of paintings you want to put above your fireplace mantel.
We have had a great month and look forward to another with these superb artists. These three artists’ work exemplifies truly fine art!
The gallery is also hanging new work by Buffy Cribbs, Bruce Morrow, Yuka Zuver and Rich Frishman as well as several other gallery artists for the August Opening. We are expecting some new figurative sculptures by Jeff Day in August as well. Jeff is back from China and has produced some outstanding new work. He feels like these new sculptures are some of his best work in year. We are excited and honored to have Jeff's new work at Brackenwood.
Each day we hear how beautiful our gallery looks. Our clients tell us what outstanding artwork we have in Brackenwood. We owe these compliments to the talented local artists we represent. Although each month we have featured artists in the front of our gallery, everyday we have a variety of art from incredible bronze sculptures to tiny painted ceramic pots throughout the rest of the gallery. Collectors of our local artists enjoy bringing out of town friends and relatives in to see the artists’ work. We want to recognize our artists and tell them thank you for creating such exquisite work for all to enjoy. We are thrilled to see the excitement our clients have when they purchase a piece of fine artwork and take it home with them. That’s what its all about at Brackenwood Gallery the joy of real art!
Hope you can join us for this great summer show, which continues through Sept. 2, 2013.
