Kevin Horan has been a working photographer for nearly 40 years. On assignment for national magazines and corporations, he has traveled to 50 states, Latin America, Europe, Russia and Africa. His pictures have appeared in LIFE, Sports Illustrated, People, Fortune, Smithsonian, National Geographic and numerous other magazines and books. He was a contract photographer for U.S. News & World Report from 1989 to 2008, where he covered presidential campaigns, Hurricane Katrina, and a wide range of human affairs. Notable assignments have included the Iditarod Sled Dog Race, Amazon development, Rwanda prisons and following a dollar bill for a week. In 2004, he was artist-in-residence at Glacier National Park. Kevin is currently working on projects exploring the beauty of quotidian life, and death. He lives on South Whidbey with his wife, the writer Nancy Horan.
